A public hearing will be held August 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Saugatuck High School Auditorium (401 Elizabeth Street in Saugatuck).
The Department of Environmental Quality is asking for your voice and opinion to determine the public interest. It doesn’t matter where you live or vote!
NOW is the time to speak up. The Saugatuck Dunes are under attack and need your help. Please help stop a road that is 2 miles long, requires the removal of over 500 trees, would pave over 200,000 square feet of pristine dunes and wetpannes, and disturb nearly 15 acres of dunes, most of which are in the critical dune area.
No deadline was set in the DEQ calendar but we have been told that comments will be received by the DEQ until September 3.
This is too important to ignore. It is a real opportunity to make a difference.
